IS THE "LONDON BRIDGE" REALLY IN LONDON?--MAYBE NOT!!!

Nancy, Marie & Tom enjoy the sunset at Roadrunner's Floating Bar in Parker, AZ.         We have been really busy and having tons of fun.  Our 1st stop after departing from Tucson was Quartzsite, Arizona.  In January the town hosts the "Big Tent" event and Quartzsite's population expands from 3,700 to over 100,000 of our closest RV friends.  Normally Quartzsite looks like a dusty desert town in the midst of a perpetual yard sale.  However, when the "Big Tent" hits the town, it brings in thousands of vendors related to the RV industry, mineral and gem vendors, and heaps upon heaps of junk peddlers.  Then the town become a huge traffic jam and its yard sale persona explodes. The "Big Tent" (and it is huge) holds hundreds of vendors trying to push their offerings onto the masses.  Frankly, the tent reminded me of a giant TV Infomercial which would put the QVC Channel to shame.  I think I even saw one vendor trying to throw ...

We had a great visit to CT for the holidays.  Christmas was at Acacia and Adam's and the New Year was with our friends Marie and Tom.  We were fortunate to have a lot of time with family and were able to see almost all of our friends.  Funny thing was that CT was actually warmer than Tucson until our last day when the temperatures in CT dropped to almost 5 degrees. A Saguaro Cactus standing at "attention" with its arms in the "I surrender" pose.         We are now in Tucson, Arizona on the Sonora Desert.  The Sonora Desert stretches from Mexico into southern Arizona and California and, for a desert, is full of beautiful green vegetation.  The fun part about life in this desert is that it will either eat you (cougars & javelinas), bite you (snakes & tarantulas), sting you (Africanized killer bees & scorpions), prick you (cacti), or just scratch you to shreds (creosote bush). The Saguaros creep up a mountainside. The Saguaros can create some bizarre forms.      The Sonora Desert is the home of the Saguaro Cactus.  These sentinels of the desert stand up to 60' tall, can live up to 200 years, and no, they do not contain a potable water reservoir.  These fantastic cacti only exist on the Sonora Desert and fill the desert floor and mountains by the tens of thousands...
